Painting

In our city limits there is a code that states there that bans dual rear wheel axis in the driveway. We knew this but weren’t too worried because we were just too excited about the bus. However as soon as we got home the neighbors were a little less than too excited for, and we felt we had to get it out of there.  We wanted to focus on the exterior as we felt if the bus was less of an eyesore the neighbors wouldn’t call the code police on us.

Painting the bus:

There are too many suggestions out there. So this paint project is the less toxic approach, maybe not the most longterm best paint job, but after researching looks like it will be good enough to last 2-3 years.

You will hear Rusteloum is a good choice, with all this blending of thiner, paint, and hardener and the extereme toxicity and this is more for the air spray option.

We don’t have the luxury of air spray as we most likely will be breaking up our paint job over a course of a few weeks due to us still working full time and we need to do it in our drive way. So opposing popular belief our plan is more simple.  First step is we are going to prime the bus with the Rusteloum since it is a good metal paint, and will then color it with an oil based color of our choice.

We plan to do the roof Rusteloum off white, and keep it simple, just paint and rollers.
